every choice is a treatment the posted layouts already use, so anything you build stays in the family. generate applies your changes to the code on the right: colors, fonts, favicon and cursor edit the preset in place; a treatment change rebuilds the layout from the design model. "start from" loads a posted layout and matches the pane to it.

the box holds the exact text for the customize journal page: s1 style system, generator layout, overrides box under the options tab. edit it and the preview follows; "preview what is in the box" loads any code you paste in, copied from anywhere.

how to install · s1 generator
  1. open customize journal. under the basics tab set the style system to s1 and save.
  2. under look and feel, pick generator as the layout for every view and save.
  3. still under look and feel, turn on custom colors in the theme section, leave every color field empty, and save.
  4. under the options tab, paste the code into the overrides box and save.
  5. some layouts need a website url in your profile first (manage profile → web page). the layout post explains how to hide the link afterwards.
